Your local tour guide will be the most important tool to move around downtown Verona, to orienteer yourself among the monuments and highlights and - on the other side - local food and drink.
While admiring all the highlights of the city, we will stop here and there for some tastings of local products. Here some hints:
- A tiny “bottega”, the typical Italian small store, usually family run, where Italians go and buy fresh baked bread, cured meat, cheese and any other basic food. Here, an introduction to salami and cheese paired simply with white wine;
- A wonderful wine shop really well stocked with all typical products coming from Verona area. Here we will taste extra virgin olive oil & three wines coming from Valpolicella area, and we will include also the most famous one: the Amarone!
- Last stop will be an aperitif with view: staying g in the top part of the city, you will enjoy the sunset over it while savoring a n incredible pizza topped with fresh burrata (a special kind of mozzarella) and leaves of basil, together with an inevitable glass of wine.
Now that you are figuring out your aperitif with view, remember that for reaching the top part of the city, you will catch a ride on funicular railway: have you ever tried it approaching the sunset?
